Palazzo Gallio a Gravedona Alto Lario Occidentale - Como
The imposing Palazzo Gallio is a renaissance Castle built on a promontory on the lake of Como and overlooking the lake and the surrounding Alps. It enrichens the city of Gravedona. This impressive manor is built on a square plan with four imposing towers and an Italian Garden all around. It was commissioned, in 1586, by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, and built by Pellegrino Tibaldi Architect of the Borromeo family.Some of the original furniture is still exhisting.This is the incredibile frame of the XI Convention Azzurra.

Material and textures
Painted pieces with the more innovative techniques are the focal point of a special section were lusters and reliefs, chip-offs and enamels, sand and fibres enrichen the finest porcelains.
"Oriental Sparks"
Japan, a nation always looking forwards, will be represented by some extraordinary Artists that reinterpret traditional motifs in wonderful contemporary master pieces.

Watercolours for porcelain or porcelain to watercolour?
Irene Schmidt Barkmann, artist once in charge of Meissen school of design then painter for Meissen and for many other important european Manufactories, shows how watercolour and porcelain painting are allied to produce great masterpieces.
Master in the Fine Art of China Painting
Some of the final pieces painted by the graduated students that have completed the Program will be shown to assert the success of the Master Program. We will also award the students that in May 2010 will have completed the First Certificate and graduate the students that will have finished the complete Master Program.
Trasparent enamels
Reflected enamels, geometry of designs. The Collection of the Master Orlando Sparaventi and his most recent creations exhibited esclusively for you in Palazzo Gallio.
Le vie en rose
Roses, flowers and dreams, or dreamy flowers, symbol of love and passion... passion for the arts, painted on porcelain or modeled, enameled or glass fused, center of the composition. In this section of the Convention we will exhibit pieces on which the rose is an important element of decoration.
The music and taste symphony
A special musical program will be the frame of a delicious gourmet-dinner, to discover the pleasure of tasting.

This prestigious prize and many other awards will be given by an International Jury.
The ceremony will take place Saturday May 29th at 7 p.m.

A photographer will be available at the Convention to take pictures of your own pieces, a CD with all the winning pieces willl be on sale after the Convention. You can reserve it on place.
